What Our Guests are Saying: “I couldn’t recommend The Anchorage more! This was the perfect Eastern Shore getaway with easy driving distance from beautiful bay towns (Cambridge, Oxford, Saint Michaels). The property is absolutely gorgeous with a big lawn leading directly down to the water and plenty of lawn chairs, a hammock, and places to relax. Michelle and Woody are incredibly gracious hosts who gave lots of sightseeing/restaurant recommendations and served up wonderful breakfasts. Great local attractions, from the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad visitor center to Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy the scenery, food, and wonderful accommodations.” Ethan, Washington, DC

Choptank River Waterfront

After visiting nearby towns, biking along the many trails, or other activities, there is also plenty of room for quiet and calm. You can just sit on the beach or by the pool while relaxing and taking in the beauty of the Choptank, or relax in a hammock while reading a book. The property also includes wetlands which provides a critical habitat for blue herons, osprey, bald eagles and other migratory waterfowl. The river is home to oysters, blue crabs, horseshoe crabs, turtles, rockfish, perch, and other marine life.
