We got married at the Anchorage 1800 on November 1, 2025, and it was truly the most unforgettable weekend. We planned our wedding from California and even booked the venue sight unseen, a leap of faith that turned out better than we ever could have imagined. Anchorage 1800 is gorgeous and run by the most wonderful owners, Michelle and Woody.

Several of my family members stayed on-site at the B&B and raved about the beautiful venue and the delicious breakfasts. We loved the little moments throughout the weekend—the bonfire for s’mores, the golf cart rides around the property, and a postcard-worthy sunset over the water. Pure magic. Those that didn’t stay at the venue were right up the street at the Hyatt Cambridge, an easy shuttle away, and very convenient.

The gals got ready in the Guest House Mayflower Room, which was perfect. There were a few bedrooms to spread out in, and keeping one open for hair and makeup was a game changer. The smaller hangout areas across the property also made the whole weekend feel fun and flexibly spread out while staying on property.

I was admittedly nervous about unpredictable fall weather with a mostly outdoor venue, but the front lawn ended up being the ideal tent location that was close to everything, beautiful, and easy for guests to navigate. We did our ceremony and cocktail hour in the pavilion which was perfect, even after imagining the ceremony by the water. The setting was intimate and charming for our ~60-person wedding, and it still felt full of life without ever feeling cramped.

If you’re considering Anchorage 1800, I can’t recommend enough hiring a planner, even for a smaller wedding. Our planner, Meredith Heim Ziegler, was incredible and made the entire weekend seamless so we could be fully present.

We’re still floating from the best weekend ever. Anchorage 1800 will always hold such a special place in our hearts, and we feel so lucky to have celebrated our wedding there. An absolute gem of a venue. We already can’t wait to come back for anniversaries and special trips. – Mikala and Brandon

We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning venue for our wedding. The waterfront views were breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and photos. The gentle sound of waves and the picturesque scenery made our day feel like a fairytale. The Anchorage was incredibly accommodating and professional, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We are so grateful for the amazing memories created at this beautiful venue. – Emily and Stephen

We had our wedding in July at the Anchorage B&B. We couldn’t recommend it enough. Woody and Michelle were so welcoming and accommodating. From the beginning planning stages until we left, they were attentive, helpful and just overall amazing. They made sure our wedding was flawless and we could not be more thankful for them! The space was BEAUTIFUL – picture perfect. They now have a pavilion that has been build specifically for weddings – it was not finished yet during our stay, so i can only imagine how much it has enhanced the experience of other weddings they’ve had there! We can’t thank Woody and Michelle enough for their amazing amazing amazing hospitality. They made our wedding weekend absolutely perfect. – Erin and Michael

What our Guests are Saying: “This B & B is right off of Rt. 50, but once you are on the property, the highway is a million miles away. The beautiful Choptank River is within a short stroll, and all you can hear are the sounds of nature. The accommodations were clean, modern and nicely decorated. Breakfast was delicious with special touches like a formally set table, fresh biscuits with homemade blackberry jam and pesto eggs. The kayaks are easily accessible and a quiet cove is nearby or, of course, the entire river. I highly recommend this venue for a couple, family or even a wedding.” Linda, Towson, MD
